DTE
Over a 12-month period, a strategic overhaul of the “Insight” Demand Response (DR) program transformed this new revenue source into a daily customer engagement tool that drove deep connection and behavioral insights. This home automation device connects directly to the customers smart meter and provides real-time insights into energy use and source.
Our comprehensive go-to-market plan and execution increased program enrollment by 500%, redefined product pricing, set segmentation, widened distribution, increased app downloads and defined how to properly measure energy savings for evaluators and the commission. A multi-channel marketing effort—including TV, digital, direct mail, OOH, streaming, and SEO—led to a 29.3% reduction in participant energy use, and a 33% boost in conversion rates. With email open rates and CTRs up by 50% and ad performance exceeding industry benchmarks by 5X, the initiative successfully drove behavior change while generating incremental revenue.


PSEGLI
Over a two-year pilot, we crafted a highly targeted marketing and research strategy that drove over 14,000 opt-in customers to a Time-of-Day (TOD) rate—exceeding the 12,000-customer goal by 20%. Through precision segmentation, primary research, and multi-channel outreach, the campaign deeply resonated with customers via the core message theme of “Get the best deal on electricity”.
Leveraging TV, digital media, tailored content, direct mail, behavior-based email, and website enhancements we achieved a 98% retention rate and a 900% increase in TOD-related site traffic. The program also introduced a first-ever 1-click enrollment enrollment, boosting conversions by 50%. Our efforts earned top industry awards for innovation and best practices from CS Weekly and Chartwell. The success of the pilot has since cleared the way for PSEGLI and its commission to confidently roll out default TOD.

Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) and IDLab have worked closely together to craft and execute a multi-year plan focused on deep community and customer value, tailored services, and furthering trust. At the heart of this effort is a commitment to customer centricity—ensuring that every initiative, service, and communication is designed with the needs and experiences of PCE’s customers in mind. We have conducted in-depth research to better understand customer priorities, refined our messaging to be more transparent and engaging, and introduced personalized support to make clean energy solutions more accessible.
To achieve this, we have repositioned the agency, overhauled core messaging, refined brand expression, rebuilt the social presence, introduced home electrification services, and launched an industry-leading new website that enhances usability and customer engagement. We are currently executing this plan with tremendous early successes, earning praise from customers, the board, and elected officials.
